For the last few months I have been building HarmoniMobile, our full featured electronic medical record (EMR) application, designed for physicians and nurses. But this application is much more than just an EMR…
This new application speaks to the core ideal of what healthcare can be; simple, straight-forward, agile, affordable and most importantly, accessible to the communities most in need. I was excited to develop HarmoniMobile, and even more excited for it’s launch in the coming week.
In addition to structuring clinical care and warning doctors of contraindications (negative interactions between pharmaceuticals), HarmoniMobile is designed for tablets and SmartPhones, so all information is stored in the cloud, with HarmoniMD as the backend. With tablets dropping below $200 that have the ability to run on cell networks, we are ready to roll out this tool to any hospital, no matter how remote.
I’ve worked on media projects that showcased high- and low-tech solutions that benefited communities around the world. I am honored to now be a part of an organization that is working with these shared values.
In the near future I will begin developing a full-range screening app which will further leverage HarmoniMD’s backend technology. In late 2013 we completed a hearing screening application, but additional screening apps for immunizations, polio and cancers (to name just a few) will enhance this tool to gather information for future consultations and treatments. HarmoniMobile is only the tip of the iceberg.
